Welcome back to day 9 of our Craft Room Organization Challenge.

Craft Room Organization Challenge Day 9: Tool TIme

Yesterday I was assessing my craft supplies, making piles of stuff. I had a huge pile of felt (why do I have so much felt? why?), a sack of empty toilet paper roll tubes (gotta have those!), and a box of beeswax (because ornaments and candles!). As I was doing this, I found not one pair of magnifying glasses but, get this, 8 PAIRS OF MAGNIFYING GLASSES.

And just the other day I couldn’t find any glasses at all.

I am SO glad I am doing this. At least now I can see everything!

Craft Room Organization Challenge 9: Tool Time

So we’ve got our craft supplies assessed and put into like piles. Do you have a lot of stuff? I do and I don’t. A lot of some things, not so much of others. But it’s great to have it sorted now.

We now need to assess and sort our CRAFT TOOLS. This may be a little less satisfying, unless of course you have five hot glue guns (which you may — no judging here). But we need to assess our tools as well. See what we have, put like tools with like tools, and so forth.

As for sorting tools, I’m doing it by function. My papercraft tools are going together and are separate from my beeswax tools. For example, I put all of my beeswax tools together into a box, like this:

Day 9 Assignment: Separate your tools into groups by function, type, and/or craft. If you have craft tools in other parts of your house that should be here, go get them and put them in the appropriate groups. If you feel like sharing, take a photo of your tools and share them on Facebook — we ALL love to see craft supplies!

Until tomorrow,
