Share the love!

Welcome back to day 11 of our Craft Room Organization Challenge.

Yesterday we assessed the seating in our craft rooms. I realized I have one chair, and while I love it, it just wasn’t going to cut it for what I have in mind for my room.

But there’s more than just chairs to worry about — we also need to look at tables and other work surfaces. This is arguably the most important piece of furniture in your craft space. Without decent space to work, you’re just adrift on a giant sea of cute craft supplies.

Challenge 11: The Craft Table

Assess the tables and/or work surfaces in your craft space. Ask yourself these questions:

1. Is this enough space for me to do my favorite crafty activities on?

2. Is this at the right height for me to work?

3. Is there storage in the table, or can I add it without taking away work space?

If you answered “no” to any of these questions, you’re going to want to obtain or make a better crafting table in your space. You don’t have to get it now, but be thinking about it. I’ll talk more about what makes a great craft surface next week.

I myself am woefully lacking in the work surface department. I have an old dining room table in my craft space. It’s not even all that big. It’s pretty, but not functional enough. I need something bigger and with storage. So I am checking off “need awesome craft table” on my list. And I already have some ideas percolating.

Day 11 Assignment: Assess your craft work surfaces. Is it everything you want, or is it lacking? If you feel like sharing, take a photo of your work surface and share it on Facebook — your photos inspire us all.

Until tomorrow,
