Welcome back to day 10 of our Craft Room Organization Challenge.

Craft Room Organization Challenge Day 10: Chair Up

So we’re now firmly entrenched in the ASSESSMENT stage of our craft-related things and tools. How are things going? Are you getting a handle on your things?

The funny thing is how now that I’ve got a lot of the junk out of my room and I’m making piles of related craft supplies and tools, I realize I have just generally less stuff than it seemed like I had.

This makes me happy!!

Why?

Because that means I have room to GROW!!!

But, wait, I still need to assess some more things in this room …. and so do you!

In fact, it’s time to turn our attention to the furniture in our rooms. This is actually a big topic — we need chairs to sit in, tables to work on, and storage units of a variety of types to keep our things in.

We need to assess what we have currently in order to determine what we need to obtain (we’ll be doing that next week).

Craft Room Organization Challenge 10: Chair Up

Take a close look at the seating furniture you have in your craft room. Like, a REALLY close look. Ask yourself these questions:

1. Do I have a comfortable place to sit and craft for hours at a time?

2. Can I either move my chair easily around my craft space? (If not, is your craft space small enough that you can reach everything from a stationary chair?)

3. Do I have seating for guests? If so, are my guests likely to sit and craft with me for a while, or are they just visiting for a few minutes?

If you answered no to any of these questions, you’re going to want to obtain better or just more seating in your room (again, we’ll talk about craft room seating options next week).

I have only one bit of seating in my craft room — this pretty red chair I got at a yard sale. I love this chair — it is solid and comfortable. HOWEVER, it has no wheels, and my room large enough that I need to move about more easily. So this will be my guest chair. There we go — my craft room seating is assessed!

My red chair of awesomeness:

(Don’t mind the naked registers. The covers are staying off until I’ve got my furniture figured out.)

So how’s your seating looking?

Day 10 Assignment: Assess your craft space seating. Is it everything you want, or is it lacking? If you feel like sharing, take a photo of your seating and share it on Facebook — your photos inspire us all.

Until tomorrow,
