Craft Room Challenge Day 3: The Great Divide

Craft Room Organization Challenge Day 3: The Great Divide

Today we are going to continue the Great Purge of our craft space.

Yesterday you took stock of what should stay and what should go. And then you purged one thing. Great work!

Today, I need you to begin dividing the “must purge” items from the “must stay” items. Remember, this isn’t necessarily things you’re going to trash; just things you’re going to remove from your craft space.

So locate a space in your craft room that has some breathing room. Preferably a space near your door or point of entry. This will be our staging area. We’re going to called this staging area the OYNCS pile (it stands for “Out, You Not Crafty Stuff!)

We’re going to begin moving the purge items into the OYNCS pile today.

Here’s my craft room BEFORE I began purging. Yikes. Don’t judge me.

Here’s my craft room AFTER I created the OYNCS pile. This is the same view! As you can see, we also moved the big wardrobes and the coffee table out of the room entirely into a different OYNCS pile in the garage. (We’re going to find new homes for at least one of them.)

The area you cannot see in the photo (where I am standing) is where I kept (or moved) all the stuff I want to STAY in the craft room. So the room is actually still pretty messy. But there’s some promise here now!

Day 3 Assignment: Get up and go into your craft space. Move as many of your purge items into your OYNCS pile as you can. You don’t have to remove it from your space yet — just divide it into things that stay and things that must go.

Until tomorrow,
