Wondering what color to paint your craft room? Check out these lovely craft room paint colors on the walls in actual craft and sewing rooms already!
If you’re planning a new or updated craft room, one of your big questions is probably COLOR! Should you keep your walls white? Or paint them a color? If you paint them, WHAT color is best? Let’s talk about craft room paint color ideas!
First, remember that this is YOUR room. There are really no hard and fast rules. If you’re a pretty colorful person with a lot of different colors already going on with your crafts, you might really like white or off-white walls. They will brighten your room and provide a neutral backdrop for your creativity.
In my experience, however, most crafters tend toward painting their craft rooms. And figuring out what color will look good and still provide a good backdrop for their creative lives can be tough. So to help you out, I asked a number of crafters with finished (or near-finished) craft rooms to show us their paint colors. I think this will help you envision a variety of colors in your room and try it out before you paint it!
There are a LOT of different colors you can paint your craft room. In fact, most of the craft rooms in this post are from the wonderful women in my Craft Room Organization Facebook group. This group is bursting with color ideas and solutions — come join us!

Craft Room Paint Colors
Here’s my own craft room in a color I utterly adore. It makes me feel both creative and calm, which is a powerful combination. I painted my craft room with Benjamin Moore #653 “Seagrove.” Isn’t it just an amazing color?
Vicki’s gorgeous craft room is painted in “Spa” by Sherwin Williams. (Like those giant paper flowers over her window? Here’s how to make the giant rose and giant peony here!)
Dixon chose “Hilo Bay” by Behr and she just loves it!
Marsha chose “Botanical Tint” by Behr for her pretty craft room!
I love this kinda retro craft room that Tina’s got going on here — she used Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige for three walls, Valspar Mystic Sea for the accent wall, and Sherwin Williams Origami White for trim!
Check out this lovely attic craft room by reader Lyn — she used Cucumber Crush by Behr.
Reader Kim chose a gorgeous Tiffany green blue for her craft room!
Here’s another view of Kim’s great craft room!
Reader Ann Furtado also likes robin’s egg blue!
