Welcome back to day 23 of our Craft Room Organization Challenge.

Today we are continuing to put things back into our cleaned craft spaces. And I want to share one of my absolute favorite tricks for keeping things organized as we put things back … resealable plastic bags!

Challenge 23: Use Resealable Plastic Bags

There’s nothing that bugs me more than opening a box just a tangled mess of stuff. You can’t find anything! And the more you shuffle things around, the worse it gets.

To solve this problem, I recommend you get yourself a HUGE supply of resealable plastic bags in a variety of sizes. Keep them right in your craft room—these are your craft bags. Here’s how I like to use them:

  • When I am working on a project but need to put it away to tidy up, I put everything in an appropriately sized bag and label it.
  • When I have scraps I want to save, I bag ’em.
  • When I finish a project and don’t want to display it, I bag it.
  • When I need to sort things during a project, I put them in bags.
  • When I have something that is messy and could spill or leak, I bag it.

If you have a number of large, in-progress projects, get yourself some large clear bags, clip them to skirt hangars, and hang them from a towel rod in your room. Instant storage and project access! (This is a great tip from Patricia in our Facebook group)

Tip: IKEA sells some cute plastic bags at amazing prices. The different sizes are color coded!

Day 23 Assignment: Consider using plastic bags and, if you think you can make use of them, get yourself some for your craft space!
