Welcome back to day 24 of our Craft Room Organization Challenge.

As I put things back into my craft room and use them, I’m discovering that it’s easy to forget which part of the room something is in. Did I put the chalk over here, or over there? This is only going to get harder the further I go, so I’ve decided to make a map!

Challenge 24: Make a Map

If you want a truly organized craft space, I recommend you make a map as you put things away. I’ve taken my craft room diagram, make a few tweaks to it, printed it out, and slipped it into a plastic sleeve. Now I’m using a dry erase marker to note where I’m putting my chalk, my paint, my ribbons, etc. I’ve created a lot of storage space (yay!) so this is helping tremendously! It’s also a great way to map out where you want to put things before you actually do the work—then you can see if you have a logical plan or not. For example, it might be better to put the chalk next to the markers!

When I’m done putting everything away, I will make a permanent copy of my craft room map and put it somewhere handy! Now I’m always know where everything is, too!

Day 24 Assignment: Diagram your craft space and all your storage spots (if you have stacked shelves, make lines in the box to indicate each shelf). Now start mapping out your craft space! And we’d love to see how you’re doing and where you are putting things—take a picture and share it with us on Facebook.

Until tomorrow,
